We sold our boat...and bought jetskis...and bought a little sailboat

In May/June, we sold our boat. Funny thing, we had it posted on Popyachts for a while and got no hits. This year, we had a couple of hits and while we were moving the boat, we even had people show interest. Boat sold, end of that story. I am picking this up 5 years later so the original intent has changed a bit.

Anyways...
That same summer we bought jetskis. We can't not be on the water, right?
Can't find a picture right now but one is green (2 seater) and one is yellow (3 seater). Maybe I will do a new post about that as we have had some adventures. Going from a cruiser to jetskis was amazing. Getting them on the trailer the first time- wow! Now we can load up and watch the boat couples arguing about loading their boats as we drive away.

Fast forward a couple more years, maybe 2018? We have this dream of selling everything to live aboard a catamaran somewhere warm (not upstate NY). We decide that we need a practice boat for sailing. We decide this in the middle of sailing season (June, July maybe) so any boats for sail worth buying are probably sold at this point. Any boats still available are probably in bad condition or there is some story about why its not being used.

We drove to many places looking for sailboats. Walked many docks dreaming of the boat we could have (but were too big for the current budget). We decided on a figure and narrowed our search. I wanted a nice boat to learn sailing. The husband wanted a nice boat to race. So, we had that to work out. Since I know very little about sailboats or sailing for that matter (since then we've taken some classes and I know much more now) I decided that having a racing boat would be a great "trial-by-fire" way to learn. I wanted to learn to sail without getting bored. We were able to eliminate some options after having decided this.

After a discouraging day searching, we decided to check out Oswego. Call it right place at the right time. We asked about J24 boats and there was someone who knew it all AND it turns out he was selling one of his J-boats. It was in the price range so we grabbed it. There it is on the trailer and there we are sailing it!

Maybe I will start blogging again. There are a few years to catch up on...
